Bibelen med illustrationer af Rembrandt
Rembrandt Van Rijn (1606 -1669) is regarded as one of the most important Dutch painters of the 17th century, and one of the main figures of the Baroque era. His paintings are known for their warm colors and dramatic illumination in figurative style. Rembrandt painted landscapes, portraits, biblical stories, and historical motifs.
The Rembrandt Bible contains many of the famous artist’s magnificent drawings and paintings in black and white and colour. Some of these illustrations are rarely exhibited.
The Bible is part of the Tønnevold Bible Collection at the Nordic Bible and Book Museum.
